I was on the Conspirinormal podcast to talk about Hollywood and my new novel Remnant.
Here is what Adam Sayne of Conspirinormal writes about the interview:
We speak to Brian about his new book “Remnant” the second installment of his “Chronicles of the Apocalypse” series. Brian gets a little deeper into the Preterist view of End Times Prophecy and how it has influenced his work. We also discuss some of what is going on in Hollywood right now.
My interview starts at the 1 hour 15 minute mark.
Listen to it here.
Fantasy and horror are God’s favorite two genres when it comes to prophecy.
I wrote this article for Speculative Faith, an excellent website for Christians who love fantasy, sci-fi, and all things speculative.
I take a look at the elements of fantasy and horror that the Revelation uses to inspire “holy fear.”

These guys like beer and theology. fascinating combination.
I start around 9 minutes in. I first talk about my screenwriting career.
Then we talk about how I gave up on “Left Behindism.”
And then I talk about the story of first century Rome vs. Jerusalem in the storyline of my series Chronicles of the Apocalypse.
Spiritual warfare stories. Supernatural worldview, and more!

It’s crazy to try to discuss such a complex book with two completely opposite paradigms.
Since Rob and I are crazy (in different ways), we decided to do just that.
I argue for Revelation being about the first century destruction of Jerusalem, he considers most of it future.
But there are areas of agreement too.
Check it out.
More to come!
This is a FASCINATING discussion. One of my most interesting.
I was on Rob Skiba’s podcast talking about the End Times and the failure of modern Bible Prophecy pundits over and over and over again.
With such a track record of absolute and total failures, maybe it’s not because individuals are wrong in specific interpretations. Maybe its the entire system that is wrong.
Consider something radically different. Consider preterism…
What happens when two heretics discuss opposing views on the End Times? Find out in this first of a multi-part series, which will compare Brian Godawa’s Preterist views versus Rob Skiba’s Futurist views concerning what the Bible calls the “Last Days.” In this broadcast, Brian lays out the foundation for why he no longer believes in the Futurist position, as described in his latest series of books.

The apostle John writes the book of Revelation under the brutal regime of the evil emperor Nero. And the message of the secret apocalypse: The terrible judgment of God will shortly take place, and Jesus is coming quickly.
You will believe what happens next…
An epic tale of two cities: Rome and Jerusalem in the first century. A theological novel of spiritual warfare with angels and demons and the end of the old covenant age.

Okay, maybe not EVERYTHING. But certainly most things. Shocking, but true. The typical scenario of a rapture, Antichrist, 7 year Tribulation etc. all in our future simply doesn’t hold up to Scripture. Find out where you can begin to discover a more biblical way of reading the End Times through the context of the ancient Jewish mindset not our own modern one.
I was on Off the Grid Podcast talking about my new series, Chronicles of the Apocalypse. It was a good show. Very informative and helpful.
Check out the podcast here.
Here is what they write about the interview:
Brian tells us:
- Why he sees modern-day parallels between the times of Emperor Nero, who persecuted Christians, and events of today.
- How the theology behind “Chronicles of the Apocalypse” differs from the “Left Behind” books.
- Why Christians should not be afraid of reading biblical fantasy books – and how such books can encourage them.
Finally, Brian tells us how his interpretation of the book of Revelation differs from the more popular “Left Behind” interpretation.
We learned a lot about Scripture and the apocalypse during our discussion with Brian, and we know you will, too!
OFF THE GRID PODCAST
This was a great interview with a great host, Adam Sayne.
You are gonna love it. First off, he introduces the audience to the basic schools of eschatology and the end times.
Then at around 30:00 I come on and talk about the theological foundation of my new novel series, Chronicles of the Apocalypse.
I tell my own story of how I changed my view on the end times, I address Matthew 24 and the Last Days, the problem of hyperliteralism, as well as the ancient Hebrew background to understanding the imagery of the book of Revelation.
Listen to it here.

But it’s going to entertain the hell out of you — with the truth of heaven.
It won’t be out until near end of February.
